Kevins work has evolved to provide a precise and careful approach to his patients. Osteopathy
has never been just about 'cracking' joints - a practise with which it had sadly become synonymous around 25 years ago.
Treatment methods are drawn from a very broad repertoire to suit the patient . Traditional classic
osteopathic techniques are employed but gently and with great care. These are often interwoven with
the subtle techniques of 'functional' and cranio-sacral practise.
Patients quickly feel confident and relaxed and thus facilitate and enhance the effects of treatment.
Occasionally he uses a form of acupuncture or dry needling. Also ultasound therapy is used on
patients with complaints such as tendon problems for example.
Expect to give a comprehensive history: about yourself and your problems. You may need to partially undress
for examination. You will probably have tests performed on your muscles, joints and nerve functions. If needed, other tests
(such as blood tests) may be suggested on referal to your GP, though this is generally uncommon.
A believer in 'integrative' medicine , Kevin is always happy to be in touch with GPs
and other relevant health professionals to exchange information or refer you to should it be found that you were
currently unsuitable for Osteopathic treatment.
Direct referals for private MRI and other diagnostic imaging can be made to Treliske Hospital.
